3. The operating principle of the Hydraulic Couplings With Single Delay Champer:

Rotofluid Couplings With Single Delay Champer are equipped with a chamber to reduce the oil flow in the working circuit (Figure 1). The contact chamber is pressurized through calibrated nozzles, which can be adjusted as needed (Figure 2). Adjustments in the nozzle holes alter the time required for the oil in the chamber to reach the working circuit. Thus, the startup time for the controlled machine can be increased or decreased.
When all the oil has flowed from the chamber into the circuit, the coupling reaches its rated speed, transmitting the required torque with minimal slip (Figure 3).
Westcar couplings can be equipped with either 1 or 2 delay champer.
– Couplings with 1 delay stage limit the torque ratio Ca/Cn to vary from 180% to 150%, adjusting the oil quantity.
– Couplings with 2 delay stages limit the torque ratio Ca/Cn to vary from 150% to 120%, adjusting the oil quantity.
The advantage of the delay chamber is enhanced when energy demand increases. Delay charging chambers SCF and DCG are available from 30 to 95P.
